This evokes emotion...sensation! I can "feel" the water...and pain. I don't know if that's the intent but gazing at this makes me want to comfort Sam desperately!
It's incredible.

It's beautiful. The shades, the hair, the hand, the water and just how thoughtful he looks.
And the fact that it looks so much like him! O_o

:D

Isn't it crazy how people tick on here?
You spend like 325654812643hours on a drawing and nobody looks at it...you do a 30min sketch and people go nuts over it.
I gave up trying to get how people choose their favorites on here.
The drawings with the highest response are the one I spend hardly 2hours on. XD Kinda off-putting. *LOL*

I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful this is  I just can't even, there aren't words ...I mean, his expression is simply perfect, beautiful in it's agony, though I doubt he's in actual pain. More like.. trying to figure something out and not succeeding well. He's good-naturedly annoyed with himself, I think. And the water is beautiful and lovely and his hair looks almost 1700's, like they used to tie it back.. simply beautiful, I love it

ps. this is on tumblr here - I hope that doesn't bother you :s

Such SWEET words! :glomp: I've been amazed by the response this quick, simple drawing ellicited, but I think you hit on the reason exactly. It's the feeling. The expression on the character. And, of course, a rabid fandom. ;) Thanks again for taking the time to comment!

PS...and of course it doesn't bother me! Kinda makes me day. :XD:

It's SO funny because I really didn't like how the hand turned out, or the water. This was a super-quick sketch. But it seems to have struck a chord! Could it be the 'wet' and 'naked' part? Maybe... :giggle:

I think, that it is overall not a "refined" work gives it an extra kick of "feeling". To me, he looks very thoughtfully. And I so enjoy that you got with your hues so much depth!

I do agree; sometimes there's something about the roughness of a quick drawing that imparts more energy than something highly refined. :XD:
